An isolated coastal site on a hillside overlooking a western facing beach on the west coast of Flinders Island in the Bass straight between Tasmania and Mainland Australia. The building consists of a group of five pavilions linked by a curved internal walkway. From the north a living area, then a kitchen space, sleeping room, bath house and a master bedroom nestle around the gentle contour with an ensuite at the end of the walkway. Each room is an Ecoshelta e.pod module and each faces a different aspect of the panoramic ocean and coastal view. The living room, kitchen and studio all open onto an extensive deck area overlooking the view. the rear of the kitchen opens onto a large courtyard with stone outdoor fireplace and enclosed kitchen garden. Plans

The building sits on a rock outcrop at the edge of a casuarina forest overlooking the bay and islands. It was prefabricated in a workshop in Sydney and shipped to site for assembly. and erection. The curved walkway was built on site to connect the pods.
