The Ridgeway House
This is a pole frame construction with Celery Top Pine Bush Poles and large recycled hardwood floor bearers and is clad in lapped hardwood palings.
The multiple roofs are inspired by Bhutanese and Nepalese architectural forms.
The area is exposed to extreme winds and weather.
A hippy house built for nearly nothing out of recycled and found materials
on the side of Mt Wellington near Hobart, Tasmania. The entire house is a
single large room with internal spatial division created by subtly shifts in
floor texture and level and through the use of screens and columns. There is
a large outdoor room off the main house to the west from which there is a
grand view of the Mountain and sunset.
